so I'm 8 week (2 days) into my 1st grow , I'm 5 days away from week 9.
And I was wondering if I should harvest at week 9 or wait another week.

What do the trichs look like? They look great, but you really need to get a scope and see what they look like to know when to harvest.

They look to me like they could go another week, but like the man said go by the trichs.

when I take macro pictures with my camera I can see them really close up, and from what I can tell I've only spotted a couple of amber/ brownish trichs.

by a couple I mean like 2 on a whole bud.

damn.....they look amazing. SUPER FROSTY! They do look like they could fill out a little though. Since this is your first grow, I imagine you are using soil. You might have as much as 2-3 weeks left. I would start watering with distilled h20 soon to clean out some of those nutes and or salt buildups. You may even want to do a complete leaching if you've been heavy on the nutes. Take a close look with a scope. You want to see at least 1/4 amber trichs. When they clear trichs start to turn cloudy, thats when you want to flush. GOOD LUCK

add a teaspoon or a teaspoon and a half of black strap molasses to the distilled water for the flush. It adds carbohydrates to be used by the plant and some people say it adds flavor during the last two weeks.

went by the store and picked up some nitrogen, distilled h2o and black strap molasses.
