Well ive noticed some slight weird bud growth about 2 days ago in a couple of the colas but didnt think too much of it. today i went in an snapped a pic and this shit looks mutant! ive heard of a sativa variety "Foxtailing" but i havent seen a pic of that yet to know what it is. Im growing violator kush which is a indica dom hybrid, under a 250w hps which is about 6 inches away, still stays at 80 tho. i added a batch of nutes when this started happening... i used advanced nutes GMB, i added 1 part Grow, 2 parts Micro, 3 parts bloom because they dont need the nitrogen this far into flowering really, could the nitrogen boost have caused this growth?

i just use 6 12 6 and some cal mag and molasses when i'm in flower

that kinda looks like what my c99 is starting to do, all the buds are starting to sort of open up, but im thinking itsj ust because its goign to fill in, i hope my shit dont grow like that lol

Have there been any drastic changes in the climate where you're plants are? I'm doing a stealth cabinet grow in an unheated utility room of my house. My plants have been in flower for about 9-10 weeks when the temperature into the lower 20's for about 3 nights straight then went up back into the mid 50's-60's which is normal. The residual heat from the lights kept the cabinet from dropping no more than low 40's but still a pretty big diff from 65-70's .Anyway two of my plants exactly like your pics show and that was the only thing that happened that I could think that might have caused it . Looks weird as hell though don't it.

When foxtailing is talked about with marijuana, this is what people mean.

Is there any sort of light leak in your grow room? it looks to me as if your plant is trying to reveg itself.
As you said though, it could be due to the nitrogen boost, i've heard of too much N causing stretch and leggyness, but that is just rediculous.
