Help! I need any imput on when to harvest out door ww. What time of day should I cut. Does it matter wheather it light or dark out. Does it affect potency? Thanx.in advance. I want to do it now, its 9 pm eastern but not sure. Please hurry!

Cant explain why just something always told by vets in the past harvest during night time and lightly manicure then hang

Are you sure they're ready to harvest? Did you check trichs? Do you have mad brown/red hairs? I would cut right before the sun comes up because what's the point in a plant storing sun-energy all day if you're just going to cut it down before it has a chance to use it while still in the ground.

I always harvest before the lights go on, or unplug them the last time they shut off.
the reason I do this is because during the dark periods the plants motabolism slows, and much of the nutrients it uses go to the bottom (in the roots, to save energy) at night, but during the day the plant stores most of its nutrients in the actual plant so it can grow better.
I'm pretty sure all plants do this... I could find an article... but that would require me to do some serching, and I am sooooo high right now!

Wow, that was quick response, thanks!!! I did not check trichs though. I'm out d in new england and getting a lot of shade, plus hairs are trning brick red all over,fan leaves r yellowing I have not fert in 3 wks, lrg clone that's sticking out like a sore thumb. a mix of these things is making me want to harvest despite trichs. Yall think I should wait? Its getting cold but no frost for another week they say. Ri maybe. I don't want to get ripped either of course.thanks again for the lightning quick response

BTW checking the pistls isn't that accurate, due to many vets harvesting WW whith plenty of white pistles still...the colour will vary from strain to strain.

tckfui is correct. Let the plants get as many hours of darkness as possible prior to sun rise, this will make sure all or almost all of the starches, and sugar, and nitrites are in the root system. Just cut the stem, then manicure it in the light prior to drying...once the stem is seperated from the roots the plant can see light because it cant pull nutes any longer.

For indoor growers a little trick I learned is using green x-mas lights...plants can't process light in the green spectrum, so now your able to see, the plant still acts as though its in total darkness That little trick prevents tripping over stuff, and falling on plants in your room, or closet lol

Just make sure those lights are an actual green spectrum, and not just a bulb colored green. There is a big difference there.
