Alright so this is my first time growing and i have a really good idea on what to do with drying the buds but my room mate keeps fucking acting like he knows how 2 grow some shit but doesnt b.c everytime he trys it gets killed...anyways..the plant i have going right now is "super bud"...and its some good ass shit its only 6 weeks into flowering but i cut two branches last week and we are trying to see who has a better method...his is...he wants to hang his shit for 3 days and then put it in a shoebox to dry it out...idk how well that works..but my best friends bro grows and he always used jars he would keep them in a dark room between 60-70* and open the jar for 5-10 mins a day yeah it takes way longer to dry but i find it way more dank...anyways someone post some shit about how u dry ur shit too plz...so i can compair different ways

The whole deal is to dry it slow. It should take 7 days for the stem to snap.
Then ya put into jars.(cure)

Dry in a dark room away from imediate light, and have a fan to circulate air...not pointing directly at your hanging buds on the branches. Do that for 5-7days (bent the stem, and it should snap...they are done drying), then pop them into air tight jars like your buddies bro does(this is the cure, and it should take 10-14days...opening the jars for 10 minutes at a time every 3-6 hours). Talk to him so you can get a better understanding I have posted quite a few times on here the same method that he will probably explain to you. You will wind up with much better buds, your room mates will smoke harsh, and taste terrible...do it how your friends bro does it, and let your buds speak for you.

is it necesary to open the jar even if i dont see any moisture on the glass,couse after 7 days drying the branches snaped but the buds look a little to dry to me

Yes, I would for the length of the curing process. No worse feeling in the world than seeing a mason jar of your largest and best buds ruined by mold.

The outside of your buds may seem "too" dry, but the inside is moist still. Put them in the jars for the curing process, and the outsides will moisten up a bit...making the buds evenly moist inside, and out. If your looking to check if its working open your jar about 4 hours later for the first "breathing" process, and lightly squeeze the bud, and see if its a bit more dampo then when you put them in...it should be, and this is OK

Chadwicksuperbud: It is common for first time growers to get impacient in the drying/cure process...the drying process should take anywhere from 5-7days, and the cure anywhere from 10-14 days...those times can be cut down with experience
The reason for slowly drying, and curing... If dried/cured too quickly the plants cell walls will dry too fast trapping in starches, and nitrates which will make for a terrible taste, and an uneven burn, so drying slowly will allow these to escape from your buds...it will also allow for more of the moisture to evap from the buds which will make them more potent. They become more potent with THC because moisture keeps the cannaboids (THC) in its acidic, non psychoactive form...when dry the cannaboids change to a neutral, psychoactive form...to test this try smoking buds that have only dried for 2 days say... then smoke buds that have done the full drying/cure process...the first buds will be harsh, burn horrible, and it will take more to get you as high as you would like, the properly dried/cured buds will smoke great, smell great, taste wonderful, and complex (depending on strain), and they will have you soaring while smoking less bud...which keeps your stash big longer... which is always a good thing.
