Question regeneration question??
I was just wondering if anyone is familiar with regeneration a friend just harvested about 1 1/2 ago and put the plant back into veg.. hes been looking for new growth signs and hasnt had any yet.. the question is where should he be looking for the new growth and will he still get another main cola or just branches with cluster flowers on them?? will the yeild be only a fraction of what he got on first harvest?? thanks in advance for the help!!

New growth will more than likely start at the main stem...but depending on how badly it was trimmed you may see shoot tip growth also in time. Hard to say without a picture.

You'll probably see only clusters..and they will not be as large as the first go around. It will also take a LONG time to get from now to veg to harvest...probably as much time as starting over with a new round of plants.

good luck

Yeah dude, it's certainly not worth the effort. I am doing the same, & I have one left that is still semi-alive. To have it work, you need to leave on plenty of leaves at harvest time. having said that, it is not worth the effort, it takes longer to re-veg, than to start all over.
Peace

Yeh but if your desperate to save your baby's genetics and you have no growth tip but some good foliage use a kinetin spray (Bonide Tomato Blossom Set Spray) it can create new branches at where the leafs intersect the branch, even if there isn't and hasn't been a growing tip (or unharvested bud) there before. Worked on mine, thought it might help increase flowering sites... gave me branching all over the place from the leaves, even under HPS in the middle of flowering!

Oh and Kinetin is known for targeting plant growth activity where applied, so the top will start to re-form asap.

Well, plan on a really long vegging time frame, like 2-3 months.

Agreed, best to take cutting before you flower, regenerating blows.

Sorry, but you guys are no help, No-one really answered the question. I will cause currently I have a ww in regenerated after a harvest in Feb. I will tell u what u need to do, and yes it is worth it. I harvested the plant leaving some smaller buds and leaves. I put the plant in NEW dirt, not the same soil/hydro, whatever. Then you'll need to trim the roots, cause its no longer needs a large root mass. After 1 week give the regenerated plant a dose of 20-20-20 ferts and within 1 month it'll totally have new and vigorous growth.
After 3-4 weeks you'll need to repot, and then if satisfied w/new growth u may then do 12/12 again. I am putting my regen back into flowering next week, I let her veg until she is now 18" high and busy.

To each their own, vburton. There isn't much enthusiasm or push to promote from anyone here because many of us know from experience that the 2nd go isn't anywhere near as productive as the first.

If it were, it would be the standard in growing. It isn't..and that speaks loads to the lack of productivity and the incredibly time-consuming aspect of the practice.

The only time I would ever do this is if I failed to *somehow* (unlikely!) take a clone of the plant earlier on or because I lost the "up and comings" to pests or other problems and needed to preserve the strain.

Growing and *knowin* what I'll yield is part of the game here because I use my smoke for pain control. In re-veg, you never know what you'll yield..you only know it won't be as much.

good luck

bt dt
