Question 2 Drying Questions
Hey guys, I plan to harvest in a few days here, possibly 1 more week. I've got my process all planned out, just a question or two.

1. I know to dry my bud for 5-7 days. I know they should be "crispy" on the outside. I want my buds to be very soft and sticky when I break it up. Should I let the outside of the bud get "crispy" before I cure?

2. I am drying by hanging the bud in a cardboard box with strings. the box will be in a shed. Is the shed OK?

Thanks

You should be o.k. but be careful because drying can occur very quickly in cardboard boxes just keep an eye on them to make sure they don't dry out too much.

this is what im worried about.

when will I "know" they are ready for curing? I want to put them into jars as SOON as they are dry enough to prevent mold.

The outter edge should be crispy enough to sample. To see if they are ready for curing, bend the stem just below the buds, if the stem folds over, you need to dry a bit longer, until you get the desired efect which would be the stem snapping free of the bud. Once that occurs the buds are ready to be removed of the stems, and put into jars for the curing process.

thanks, that was a good read Kali

Going to check my buds everyday. They are going to be hanging upside down in a box in a large shed near the ceiling.

The shed is not "humid" but it has a dry heat effect to it. is this bad for the buds? I don't really have any other choice other than the attic.

Dry heat will be good for drying. If the air is moist u'll have some chance of mold or bud rot.
