Molasses or no Molasses? You tell me...
Been reading many different opinions. Voice yours.
Has anyone done a comparison? Any pics?

2 tablespoons everyother watering three weeks before harvest///

flush your soil with plain ph balanced h2o a week before chopp down////

do this and you will notice your tricomes increase.....due to sugars which the molasses provides through special micronutrients..... to much info to give...just read books for and do what i said it will help.....

i water every feed (except seedling stage) with 1 teaspoon of blackstrap. towards end of flowering, including flushing, i use 2 teaspoons per litter.

so 2 for molasses.
Had some of that brer rabbit molasses in my pantry. Dosed my last 3 plants with it this morning. Interested to see what it does. Looking to get them a little heavier. Only one way to find out. I figured I will dose again this week and flush next week. Then its chop chop time.

Sucanat is a natural raw dark sugar with a molasses consistancy to it. It does the same as black strape molasses, but it also adds a wonderfly complex caramel aroma, and taste to the buds. 1-2 tsp per gallon of water during grow. 1 tsp per gallon during flush, stop giving the plants water ( or lower the humidity) 2 days prior to cutting, and she will pack on resin like a fat girl, and ho-ho's.

i used mole asses for over twelve weeks and I stopped due to bud worms so fuck if you arent concernced about caterpillars eating all the thc and shitting it allover the bud site and having to lclip it off during harves then go ahead and watch how your girls take up the moleasses and swell up like crazy it also takes longer in the curing process cuz it makes the buds smell like hay for a longer period of time but in the end of it all the buds seem to last a long time

Which Sucanat is better. The powder form or the sugar form? Im guessing you just dissolve it in the water? Any well known stores carry that stuff?

a highly respected forum member and very experienced grower 'al b fuct' says its absolutely pointless, and that plants cannot use sugars as nutrients, and he had lots of scientific evidence to back it up, and im inclined to believe him.

ok well grow big and all this other bud booster shit main ingredient is molasses. So, I use it and I do notice slight differences in bud size and overall look. U can see the solution goin up the stalk on one of my fattest plants.

5 for molasses
1 for no molasses

I dont know bro. I used for 1 week and I swear them buds are swelling up on my plant. The molasses damm sure isn't hurting it.

I used molasses on 1/2 of my plants every watering the plants that got the molasses i have to say had way better buds{bigger} . Would this have happened anyways who knows I marked the plants that got the molasses and find it strange it worked out this way if it is not any good .Next year molasses on ALL what you got to loose ?

Like I said, its not hurting the plants.....Only one way to find out right...

I'd never heard of it until my last grow. I'll use it for now on. 1TBL per, starting at week 4-5 of pistils. I've heard from a trusted source that you can see it in/on the buds with a black light?
One thing. I found that if I didn't use all that I mixed, it'd tend to ferment and reek, in gallon milk jugs.

Here it is straight: Plants can't use sugar as a nutrient, so forget everything anyone tells you about the buds tasting carmely, or having a sweeter flavor from adding sugar. There are natural sugars present in molasses. Along with that molasses has an assortment of micronutrients, many of which beneftit the plant. the sugar will be consumed, digested, and released as waste by natural bacteria that are present in your soil. Some of these are nasty and will harm your plant by making the soil an unstable place to live. Others are crucial to your plants health, and the byproducts of the digestion proccess will promote viable soil, and conditions ideal for nutrient uptake by the roots. Plants that show improvement from molasses use over those that don't get molasses are just showing an improved health and vigor from the resulting improvement in the soil condition. In addition, if any of the micronutrients that are present in natural molasses were in short supply, the plant is able to utilize them. Google "mychorrizal fungi". It'll make more sense if you understand it.

Couldn't have said it better myself! I can attest 100% to the benefit of molasses when used with beneficial bacteria/fungi. The plants just love it; they really put on the trichomes and they tend to be able to handle much more stress (especially drought).

MrFishy is right; it will ferment if not oxygenated with an air pump. That is why people say you can't use it in hydro. But if properly oxygenated it will last quite a while. I bubble my mix of mychorrizal fungi, bene bacterias and molasses and keep a little farm going.

Also, it seems to make nitrogen unavailable; this is mainly why it is only added during the last weeks of flowering.

So the plants don't use the sugar. The molasses improves the soil condition to make your plants flower better. TRANSLATION= Molasses Works when growing in soil.

Got some violator kush, 8 ball kush, easy sativa and some free columbian red haze seeds from dope-seeds.com for next year.

1 more question. Do the plants roots like to root deep downward or spread out wide? I want to know what size and shape pots to get.

pretty much. Understanding why and how are of importance, though. Anytime you are going to introduce something into your medium, you ought to know how it's going to affect the balance, so if you end up with a problem you can accurately backtrack and isolate the problem. Good luck

Sugar form. You dissolve it in hot water prior to mixing in with the rest of your water that your going to water your ladies with. You can get it at your local natural food store, or health food store. Its around $3 per pound. A complex caramel flavor/aroma will be present with your buds if you use Sucanat, usually it won't overwhelm your buds natural aroma, but some strains taste and smell a lot of caramel.
