I am growing my first ever kind bud plant and I got the seed from a bag of Hash Plant. Has anyone ever grown hash plant before? It is now in it's 5th week of flowering and do I need to do anything special to it? The buds are kinda small and it's only getting like 6 hours of sunshine daily. Do I fertilize with molasses? Any advice would be greatly appreciated..smoke on brothas and sistas!

Mix in 1-2 tsp. per gallon of Sucanat. You can get Sucanat from any natural food store, its a form of dark natural sugar with a molasses-like consistancy. This will enhance the aroma of the bud with a slightly complex caramel taste. To help push resin production over the edge is to let the grow room humidity go low the day prior to harvest, or let the medium go dry 2 days prior to harvest. The dry conditions will cause the plant to produce more resin to reflect light to save its self from burning. I'm guessing these are outside? Try moving them to a hill side facing south, because this will put them in the light a bit longer to help the buds get a bit bigger. But I'd ask the person you got the seeds from, because it might be natural for the hash plant to have smaller buds. Hope that may help you.

Thanks for replying and checking your book NastyRudeDog ! Gosh...those two strains sound lovely, too. I have seen the Hash Plant in Jorge Cervantes grow book but it doesn't really elaborate on what environment, fertilizer or growing methods for that particular strain.

I had taken 8 clones from this beautiful lady and plan on growing under a MH 1000w light. Anyone have any suggestions or advice on that?

Thanks so much for that info! Yeah, it's growing outside in Colorado and I was just planning on harvesting the buds before the first frost. Would it be useful to bring it inside and supplement the plant with more light?

If you can remove it without destroying the roots, then I would, and supplement more light via HPS 600 watt light, this will help it bulk up. If you keep it outside she will get less, and less light so its size will not get any bigger...and extreme temperature changes will stunt its growth a bit. Because I'm sure it gets pretty cool at night in the Mile High city.

Okay...yeah, it's in a big planter so I can take it inside. The nights are cool here...about 65 degrees. I figured it wasn't gettin' enough light, thanks so much for your great help. I will prob need a lot more advice and tips on the drying and curing process...it's my first time. Very excited!

Just get at me, and I'll help how ever I can. I've only helped with a few grows, but I should be starting up a nice grow room in a few months, so I have a little experience, and tricks with growing, harvesting, and curing. The 65*F is probably the reason for your small buds. A HPS 400-watt light on a 12/12 light cycle will help bulk up your girl, or a MH 600-watt, the HPS will cause it to grow taller, where the MH will keep it bushier. Both will help though.
