having an outdoor plant that I've had to hide in some fairly tall grass, looks like the tops are almost ready but the lower branches are less mature. and now I see on the very bottom are some new ones coming out. needless to say I was quite shocked to see a half dozen or so new ones starting to shoot up.
Can I clip what is ready and leave the rest to grow?
If yes, do I cut the main stalk at the top just below them or the branches that they are growing on? my guess would be to clip the branches.
my concern is shocking the plant if too much is clipped.

any help on this would greatly be appreciated

yes you can harvest what is ready ..

just watch for signs of stress. I did the same and she did not like it. maybe a little at a time?

I would and do,the rest will start to fill out,slowly at first.

Try removing the upper colas, and fan leaves to allow light to penatrate the lower buds. When cutting I'd suggest cutting as you would with cloning...under water as to keep air from entering the plant. You can repair cuts to the plant with duct tape (I've only heard of this through the grape vine though). Since your growing outdoors when cutting your plants upper buds do it before the morning sun rises(in the dark) after a heavy rain. Or if water is readily available then saturate the soil around your plant wait a fewe minutes then pour 1-2 gallons of water around the base of your plant. This should be done in the evening, for maximum effect, then harvest around 5am (or atleast an hour prior to sun rise).
