I am wondering ... if you wait for the trichomes to go from mostly cloudy to amber will you have more of a yield?

Not sure about that but i do believe some strains your not supposed to harvest until they go amber.

depends on what you mean by "yield". the buds will be a little bigger but more of the thc will have converted to other compounds. some of those chemicals get you high, some do not. its supposed to be a more stoney high if you wait because of these other chemicals.

What I mean my "yield" is an oz when cloudy ... a ounce and a half with amber ... that's what I mean ... will there be an increase in weight?

Funny stuff, but to answer your question, I suppose that it does increase weight of the buds if you wait until the calyxes swell. That is at the same time as peak harvest period. The calyxes swell up so it looks like there is a seed growing inside. But of course we know it's only yummy goodness.

When I see that, I salivate like Pavlov's Dog.

When I've matured mine to mostly amber, it appears many of the trich heads are either gone or no longer in tact?
IF gone, as in converted or dried up, wouldn't that decrease at least a little weight?
Just a thought.
I mean, that nice, juicy globule has to weigh more than a broken spike and most have seen plenty of these if they've gone even 50% amber, or at least I have every time?

If you wait till the trichromes are more amber than milky cloudy the effect of the high will be more that hits you in the body possibly producing couchlock. On the other hand if you allow the trichromes to be more milky colored rather than amber the high will be a cerebral one. That is why it is good to know if your plant is a sativa, indica, or hybrid. If you know the main type then match that with appearance of trichromes then you will bring the best out of that particular plant in terms of the type of high you are acheiving.

I've quick dried a couple of small branches and tried some ... yeah ... she's ready ... stone wise ... I like a head buzz rather than couch lock ... if I do lose some weight by taking her now ... so be it ... I like the buzz ...
