A buddie of mine purchased a 1/4lb of some really wet buds and they all were groomed horribly...water leafs intact and all. The buds smell and taste like clippings...this is after I helped him remove all those trimmings and had him dry it out in a paper bag. It doesn't seem like these buds are going to change taste...is there any advice someone could pass along to me? Thanks.

The only advice I could give you would be to take your time curing the bud. Harsh smoke comes from bud that still contains large amounts of chlorophyll. This is the result of trying to dry wet bud too quickly and not giving it sufficient time to cure. Also avoid using heat to cure the bud, good ventilation and correct humidity levels are two factors that will keep your buds from molding or drying to quickly. Bud that is cured too quickly will sometimes smell like hay. Hopefully that was helpful.

that was very informative and thank you. Let me ask another question. What if you had purchased a large amount from a grower. And lets assume that he had supposedly cured and dried it. However when you check out product the stuff is still really wet. Would you send it through the same process as the freshly picked?

Well if your buying amounts of weed it would be assumed your inspecting what your getting before it leaves the sellers hand as its your once you pay. So if he says he is drying and curing it and you see it and its wet he is either lying or an idiot who doesnt know what they are doing. Remember your buying wet weight of buds and getting screwed. If the bud is bad tasting try water curing the bud under water few posts availiable on how to do this. You will get the bad taste out of the bud but may loose some of the good bud stink but if its wet it probably smells like cut grass and mold so better to have clean smoking low odor buds.

unfortunately my good friend didnt care to inspect...not sure why? Ill have to ask him that in the morning. But thank you Filthy that was what I was looking for. Dont worry Ill make sure to give him a donkey punch later haha.

i have sent out what was 7.7 grams. i made 2 sacks, when the the second bag was fully cured it was 4.6. this bud had been down 8 days, and felt dry on the outside but on closer inspection was still green on the inside.

i have found that the stem will be the most informative in judging the overall condition of the cure. Wet buds make the dealer rich, too wet and the buyer might become a snitch. you should inspect all purchases before hand. you dont want pretendica. and why the hell are you buying large amounts of weed. get a light buddy.

Believe me...I donkey punched that fucker real good hehe. Yea it sucks cause I usually get buds off him...but i sent him a link on the water curing and he said he is going to give water curing a go. let you all know if it saves this bud or not.
