Default Using dry-ice to dry bud. Anybody done this?
Has anyone tried the method of drying using dry-ice? In Jorge Cervantez's book it explains using equal amounts of dry-ice to bud and placing in vented container in the freezer. It makes it sound like it is one of the best ways to dry because the chlorophyl doesen't break down, not handled much and leaves a smooth minty taste. Curious if anyone has tried this technique and what the outcome was.

one of the reasons you dry weed in the first place is to get rid of the
chlorophyl as it makes the weed taste like shit!

LOL.... well that's not exactly what it says. What is says is:
"This method retains potency and freshness and causes very little degradation of the resin glands from heat, light, air and fondling hands. The smoke has a mint like taste because the chlorophyll doesn't break down."

Page 102 - Medical Grow Bible, J. Cervantes
It doesn't say it's the best method. I'd also HIGHLY DISAGREE with Cervantes that the taste of chlorophyll is "minty".... It's disgusting and I want it OUT of my bud. Give me a good old hang dry / jar cure any day!!!

I second that one, chlorophyll may sometimes leave a slightly minty smell to your bud, but when burned it's really no treat. Dry ice sounds pretty cool but air drying and jar curing will always produce great smoke.

Well I guess that answers my question of weather or not to try it. lol
It's funny how upset people get when you mention the word chlorophyll.

Thanks for the responses.

I don't think anyone who posted came across as "upset". I think we were just trying to give fair warning about the true taste of chlorophyll. If anything we were looking out for you to make sure you didn't end up being unhappy with fruits of your labor.

Lol...Sorry Florida Girl, I was being sarcastic about people being upset.....Thank you for the info....I have only ever air dried and glass jar cured seemed the best way to do it. I just ran across the dry-ice thing in a buddy's book and thought I'd see what people thought of it.

Thanks again, ~Outlaw~
