I am interested in purchasing a 10mL syringe of spores from Spores101: Alacabenzi mushroom strain for $15 and am curious how much weight of dried mushrooms I should expect from it.

Any ideas from mushroom growers?

i would expect maybe an ounce dry your first flush if your doing pk cakes make sure to do the dunk tek before fruiting them and you will get huge shrooms. that syringe is enough to do about 12 cakes so i usually figure and ounce per dozen cakes and it tends to be right on most of the time

So about $40 ($15 for the spores + $25 for other materials) to grow 1 ounce of shrooms...

vs.

$30 for 1/8 of dried mushrooms from friend



Should I give growing a try?

that's like asking "how much should i expect from 1 marijuana seed?"

maybe you should expect to get none, if your grow is successful, then you'll be happy.

you'll be hard pressed to get an ounce with $40 worth of supplies. $80 might do it. spend $150 and you'll be able to put out an ounce a week for a year or so.

that's pretty much my thought on the subject.

though unfortunately I still...................."live with my parents" so to speak. so no growing til I'm out.
