Looking for a good shroom rice cake mix for my jars.

try looking on the shroomery site i was recently growing shrooms its a mixture of Vermiculite and Brown rice flour.

You won't even have to ask that question there, just look around and you'll find it. Someone posted a guide that will teach you everything almost, except technique. Make sure your equpment is very clean so you do not become contaminated(your substrate). I think this is where most people fail!

I've been experimenting with different substrates for cakes - I've found regular Brown Rice works frickin great. Just cook it like you would eat it - maybe a little less water.

Every part of it's growth has been strong and vigerous - just starting to pin now!!!

take brown rice with no prexervatives and use a coffee grinder to grind it up . . or u can just buy the brown rice powder with no preservatives . . either or will work fine.

Actually, the best way is to just use 1/4 cup brown rice and 1/3 cup water to each jar then cook the closed jars in a pressure cooker or just boil in a big pot with tin foil and metal spacers in the bottom, let boil for like an hour and a half then remove from heat and let the water and jars cool. After making sure that they are cool enough to remove, wash hands and move them to there growing area. add spores to each jar and shake them, after the shroom grows on the rice the rice cake can be eaten and will provide a trip for 2 to 4 people.

Yeah, as has been said before, the best and recommended way is to have a mix of vermiculite and brown rice flower. If you cant find vermiculite, you can just use brown rice, but it will most likely give you less potent mushrooms. I'm doing both brown rice flower & vermiculite and plain brown rice at the moment.

IMO i would stay away from cakes. I've had much better yields without them
