growing shrooms

hey all, ive decided to grow some mushrooms since i enjoy growing stuff that fucks me up just right lol. i went to walmart and got 1 pint jars, a small but big enough plastic tote/box whatever you would like to call it to fit a couple cakes, verm, and perlite. im using the pftek method but im not making a glovebox to inoculate my jars, can i just use a beutane lighter to heat the needle up to sterilize it instead of a chemistry lab torch thing like in the video?and im more then likely going to do this on my kitchen counter, so i guess i just keep wiping everything down wit rubbing alcohol along wit wearing rubber gloves.im going to order b+ spores this weekend but do u guys recomend any other types that are potent but easy to grow and forgiving to a beginner? o, and im going to put the jars in my growroom with my hps light so it will be warm, but im going to cover the jars with a cardboard box or somthing so the light doesnt bother them. o and i love ALL advice as long as its not bad haha, pce and love

i wouldnt think that the flames would cause no harm as for potent.... have no clue the only potent i heard in shrooms is eatin them while their fresh to get the full kick ... check out youtube and serch under growing shrooms great vids on their and good luck

Yeah a butane lighter is fine. Pretty good idea putting them in your grow room the closer it is to 86 degrees the faster the mycelium will grow. Just make sure they don't get to hot or they'll die. As far as strains go I'm doing Golden Teacher. This is my first grow with shrooms. They took forever to colonize but then again my temps weren't ideal. But so far I haven't had any probs with contams. Had a scare earlier today when I was doing the dunk roll. I saw some blue on the bottom of my cake but it turns out it was just bruising. Which is actually the reason I chose GT in the first place. Along with the fact that it's potent and produces a high yield it also has great bruising effect, producing blues that can be almost blackish. Shroomery.com has a great thread on the diff strains. But I figure that B+ is a good enough strain to star with. I think I'm gonna order that next. In all honesty a glovebox may not be entirely necessary but it can't hurt to be extra cautious. If you don't use a glovebox and get contams you'll be kicking yourself later for it.
