    Has anyone grown poppies for opium? I know next to nothing about how much each plant yields and if it is even worth it so... just curious.

    i've grown them. you need A LOT. i didn't scrape them though....

    I've been thinking of doing an outdoor grow with them on my balcony. They're nice looking plants!

    hey FDD what kind of environment do they need to grow?
    There's Gonna Be Alot Of Slow Singin
    And Flower Bringin

    i just put mine outside. they are very delicate the first few weeks. the sprouts turn crispy in the sun. next year i think i will start them inside.

    will they grow in the winter in oregon(coast)? they would be under cover in a green house but it gets cold in there, and where did you get your from?

    Go buy some McCormick poppy seed spice. I planted the seeds and they grew just fine, actually they grew a little better then fine. Remember, if you grow them, dead head them so they won't spread seeds everywhere.
