Any of you try san pedro cactus? I would like to hear some trip sories and dosing information (how many inches were consumed).
I am looking forward to trying a good san pedro trip, my first with 6 inches of cactus was unsuccesfull.. Too mild to be called a trip.

I couldn't tell you on dosage, since I've never done it myself, and erowid lacks this information on this substance. From what I've read it REALLY fluctuates between person and person, and almost everyone who tries it will violently puke while coming up. Just a heads up!

Maybe take some dramamine to ward it off a bit.

nice trips, but I suggest you do a mescaline extraction from it rather... eating cacti tastes disgusting and tends to make you purge like a mudderfugger.
Traditionaly the indians would use 2 or 3 datura seeds with it to combat the nausea... I guess eating some raw ginger would help too...
Ginger is still the best natural anti nausia substance.

I haveread lots and lots of experiencereports online, like maybe 50 or so.. I was just interested in different new reports that I havn't read yet. Iknow dosageis pretty muchabout a footof cactus, which equates to 350 mg or so of mescaline (anythin 500mgand up being a strong trip. I think 150mg is threshhold. I have read reports of people taking a full gramof pure mescaline and really being shown the yonder lol. The only thing about extracting mescaline from the cactus, is there is a chance of snuffing up, plus acquiring all the ingredients are sometimes tricky. You also lose some potency and mescaline in the process.

Im wondering.. is there anyone who has tried pure mescaline and whole cactus and noticed anydifferences in the trip?

Pretty much the same effect wise, without most of the negative body load eating something wretched brings.
you get two forms of extracted mescaline, (based on the method), mecaline HCl and mescaline sulphate. they have diffirent dosage amounts.

one is white crystals and one is black powder/crystals? I have seen an extraction method that resulted in black powder, which may just be the extracted/purified alkaloids. Ive read that the mescaline crystals give more of a clear, visual, and crisp high, while eating the cactus and the supporting alkaloids which work synergistically to alter the trip may be more sedative and mellower. definately a more spiritual trip with the inclusion of all the other alkaloids.

yeah well depending on the cactus in question there are a whole bunch of alkaloids ... some of them are known sedatives, some of them are know toxins.
