If you have extra jars you can innoculate those...if you have no more substrate to work with u can hold the extra spores in the storage until further notice. However, I would gather all the needed substrate to use the whole syringe...as saving it could cause cross intamination. Although, if you play close attention to sterilizing techniques then you shouldn't have nothing to worry about.

In regards to a strain that is most potent...this is open to debate...as some strains provide more of a mental high than a visual one. The strain that always works best for me is psilocybe cyanuscens. When you mean heartiest I would think your referring to the flush of the mushrooms correct? Same as cannabis the more exotic strains most of the time produce less yield, which higher yields will be more potent. I suggest you work with psilocybe Golden Teachers...large flush and produce nice steady visuals.
