SO, I've read alot of peoples comments on RIU about magic mushrooms, i'm writing this to help clarify some things about them! Hope this answers some questions. This is just a mini FAQ

1. How do i start growing mushrooms?

-You can order spores from a reputable spore supplier, if you want more information about growing, then visit www.shroomery.org OR you can go to youtube and search "how to grow mushrooms. Mushroom spores are illegal in CA, ID, or GA!

2. How much/how many grams should i take for my first time on mushrooms?

-It varies from person to person, a good first trip should be about 2-3 grams, just to get you started. NEVER overdo a dose of mushrooms your first time, there is a great possibility that you will have a horrible trip and freak out, possibly have to go to the emergency room. You should ALWAYS respect the power of mushrooms!

3. What are some side effects of mushrooms?

-The after effects of mushrooms can vary greatly from bliss to depression, to flashbacks, however, these symptoms should dissappear in 1-2 days. There are no known long term effects from taking magic mushrooms.

4. I've found these mushrooms on cow dung, are they magic?

- Yes, they are magically POISONOUS. You should NEVER go out and try to collect wild mushrooms unless you have an EXPERIENCED PICKER and IDENTIFIER with you. You dont know if these mushrooms have been exposed to mold or poisonous bacteria, even if they are magic, they can still make you quite ill if collected in the wild.

5. What about Aminita Muscaria (Fly Agaric)?

-Just like magic mushrooms, there are several of these kinds of mushrooms, only an experienced picker/collector can identify the the right strain of this particular mushrooms. some strains of this mushroom can make you very very very sick.

6. What is the best way to take/eat mushrooms?

-I have found eating mushrooms on a fairly empty stomach help. However my personal favorite way is a peanut butter and mushroom sandwich. You can make mushroom tea, on a salad, or just raw, there are lots of ways to make them go down easier. Just know that if you HEAT up the mushrooms, they lose a little bit of thier "magic".

7. What are magic mushrooms like?

-They greatly vary for everyone, however, most people feel and see like everthing around them is breathing with them, I find this very true as well. Patterns on walls move and change. LOTS of hallucinations, you get a kind of "body high" thats very relaxing. Your brain sometimes moves what seems 1,000,000 miles a second, you can see colors and trails, you go into your own mind and sometimes on a high dose, you can reach complete death of ego. On a bad trip you can see nightmarish/hellish hallucinations, blackout, sever paranoia, nausea/vomiting, complete loss of motor functions, as before, it varies from person to person.

8. Where can I get spore prints/spore syringes and which ones are better?

-I HIGHLY reccomend www.sporeworks.com , they are very reputable and i've never had a problem with them. I have found that syringes are the best way to innoculate.....

9. What are the best beginner strains to grow?

- I highly recommend the ecuadorian strain or the mexican strain, they colonize fast, and are pretty resistant to mold and contaminations.

sweet i will be checking in I just bought the myco garden b/c i wanted to give it a whirl.

im starating a new batch of mushies, using the PFTEK method, this time instead of using brown rice flour, i thout i'd give rye flour a go... ive hear good things about it, so lets see what happens!
