Hey guys, so today I went on a shroom hunt and found quite a few, but they seem to be pretty juvenile and were not releasing good spore prints. I am choosing not to risk trying them until I am sure obviously.


Now, I did find out that you can order spores in the US which is awesome. I have been reading adn reading and I can't seem to find a site that is a clean cut as RIU for information on this sort of thing. While the shroomery.org site is great, I feel like it is not as professional.

I was just wondering what exactly I need to get started and how to go about doing it. I am all about DIY and building/creating things is no problem. I wouldn't mind making what I need to make and then ordering some spores.

If someone could just point me in the right direction I would be very grateful

Hey man, cool to see your're starting up growin shrooms. I get all my spores from ralphsters...the most strains ever and has good deals. To be honest the shroomery is you're best bet..I would follow the pf tek first and see how you do and like it, and then go from there. I use the rye grain for cultivating now but started with the pf tek to see how it went. Remember, keeping everything as clean and sterile as you can is the key. I'm by far no master is growing shrooms, but I've had a few good batches. If you have any questions I'll try to help. BigJ

Thanks brother, appreciate the fast response. I went to ralphsters earlier and the shitty website made me sware I was going to get my CC info jacked. I also was kinda looking for an all in one kit. is that really necessary? I keep reading about PK but fr some reason it's not clicking in my head. I know I need a 1/2 pint canning jar, verm and some other stuff, but I can't seem to find a step by step "this is exactly how you do everything" thread like you do for growing tree on here you know?

I am not one to ask questions before research, but it seems that this time my research has yielded me no solid knowledge.

It might cost more but I would get at least a 16-17 qt one...If you move up to grain jars later youll need a bigger pc. I got a big ass 23 qt presto one...You can find them on sale sometimes. Check out amazon.

This might be something for me to look into. I did my first closet grow this summer and it hermied on me, it was potent, but it cut the grow real short and I ended up with only a couple ounces of seeded bud. Very disappointed.

But I'm moving to an apartment soon, and I just don't feel comfortable with the risk of growing weed there. As it is, I got paranoid as hell in the last week before harvest. (It probably didn't help that I was like, perpetually stoned.)

But this looks like something that would be much easier to keep under wraps. Weed has the distinctive look and smell and takes all those lights, and ventilation, and electricity. A locked box with a humming motor and a cord coming out one end will surely draw attention.

Of course, I should probably TRY mushrooms first. I've been wanting to, and I may this fall when I have some money. Depending on the price.

So do any of these websites ship the spores you need to grow?? i have been to quiet a few websites and none will ship to us
