What Am I Doing Wrong?

So I got some freshly grown poppies from a buddy of mine and threww one in a mug 8oz of boiling whater, let it sit for 45 min drank it and no effect, so I boiled 3 poppies in 20 oz of whater for 45 min let it sitt for an hour drank it and still no effect, what am I doing wrong?

i've heard you need 50 of them. i could be wrong.

Well, he gave me 6, but he said 1or 2 will do the trick, he also told me not to use it with alcohol...LOL. I would call him , but he is out camping for a week, he said he tryed them and gave it thumbs up, anybody knows how to make this work?

actually, you need wayyyyy more than 50 mere poppy seeds. I'm not going to count how many poppy seeds there actually are but you're going to need about 300 grams worth of poppy seeds. you can usually buy them in bulk at your local "everything" store like kroger, meijer, walmart, etc... What you do is, is you get all 300 grams of seeds, and put them into a bowl. Add lemon juice/ potent lemonade till the water level is about a cm above the seeds so they are completely submerged. So, in simplified terms: About 2-3 handfuls of poppy seeds, add lemonade, stir. and REALLY stir it. LEt sit for 15 minutes, stir again, and then pour out all of the poppy seeds and lemonade into a strainer, like a tshirt or anything cloth. strain all of the juice into a cup/whatever you want to drink it out of. and throw away the seeds. So now you have a very potent drink in front of you. should be a hazy yellowish color. Have fun, only drink as much as you think you should (cause you CAN overdose for having too much.) Please dont hold me responsible for anything you do, im only giving you my opinion off of personal experience.

well, actually they were entire poppy pods...but they are gone and no buzz...thanx anyway.

Yup thats what they looked like, guess next year I will try growing some...What do you know about cutting the pods to increase opium production? I am still very new at this.
