Hi folks. I would first like to state that I am a noob when it comes to growing shrooms. Now, I know A LOT when it comes to normal mushrooms, since I am East Euro and my whole life my parents and I have harvested wild mushrooms for our meals (right out of forests around our city). However, I don't know if the same rules apply to hallucinogenic mushrooms.

I am interested in the Hawaiian (Copelandia cyanescens) and Cubensis.

Here are my questions:

a) how hard is it to grow? From what I gather, and from my experience with normal mushrooms, they can probably grow in a dark closet as long as it is humid and the temperature is warm and steady.

b) Where could I get spores? I know that in Europe they have a large trading community, where you can request them for free, provided that you share your spores with other users once you have successfully grown some of your own.

Do we have that here in North America? I am in the Great White north, so any other Canucks have anything to offer in that sense? Know of anywhere?

Or is North America still on a $$ basis for spores/getting started?

They are extremely easy to grow as long as you have a sterile environment and if you're looking for spores go to http://www.earthstongue.com

They are a really great site, but the spores can only be used for microscopy

I know they have gourmet mushrooms, but I don't know for sure if they have Hawaiian. I've never looked for them. And no, it won't be hard to get it shipped to Canada unless spores are illegal in your country. They aren't illegal here so its pretty simple.
