i went hunting today and came across a shit load of baby mushrooms i brought them home and now i want to grow them any info will be appretiated...

it is important to first identify them. part of the identification process is to know if they were growing on wood, or soil, or poop...next under what type of a tree, type of dirt for example wood debris or sand etc. were they near water or in the forest or desert? etc etc etc

take a mushroom spore print and go through the mushroom field guides

some mushrooms transplant easily like oyster mushrooms and many "special" mushrooms -- primary wood decomposers -- transplant well also.

lol, go guy glucose, alcohol, 3% peroxide, get presure cooker and look up how to clone a mushroom... you need to act fast though

yup. there is also a method of rolling up the mushroom butts into wet cardboard to get the mycelia running. the mycelia like the wood pulp & wood glues of cardboard. i've had good success running with 1 week old mycelia after picking, but like ANC says time is a factor.

Yeah, I don't think you can "transplant" a mushroom once it's been picked.... but you can use the spores to grow more, or like someone else said you can use a tissue sample to grow more, too.

I actually just got back from a hunt myself and found that many of the mushrooms I found are too juvenile to give me a solid colored spore print. Any idea if its possible to replant them? Maybe roll out some of the spores as stated above
