I've read and heard a lot of very conflicting accounts of amanita trips.

Anyone here have firsthand experience? How many did you eat and what were the results? Does cooking them have a noticeable affect on the nausea factor?

There's a place nearby that sells them fairly cheap, and I was thinking of heading over and picking some up. Worst case scenario, I puke and don't trip at all and am out $10, but I'd still like to hear some amanita stories from someone who has eaten them.

ate them raw-one big amanita half, and a smaller amanita half (only caps)

Raw? I thought they had to be dried out to decarboxylate the ibotenic acid, thus converting it to muscimol (the chemical component that makes you "trip")

They do not have to be dried out, but its wise to slightly 'cook' them to get rid of the toxins. I suggest putting them on a grill or in the stove on low, when they turn slightly wet and kind of sticky, theyre good. They grow abundantly in my area in the winter (amanita muscaria var. formosa). The trip is pretty different. its not so much as a trip, just a weird buzz, sometimes youll black out.

Im asking this that i dont know so much about amanitas.
When i was a kid my mom always told me when we were shroom picking, that those red-white dot shrooms are lethal.But time have passed and im thinking for my self, so I ASK-How To i get rid of the toxins most effective and how long is the trying process??Also,how much should i eat at the first time(I know thats a hard thing to say-different ppl, different doses)??Im thinking of one medium muscaria.

different fly agarics are different strengths even when they're right next to each other so your always better off getting alot of them drying them out then homogenize them together to get an average strength mix
drying them out can be tricky as they hold alot of water and they are being eaten by tiny little worms. place them on a baking rack in a dry very well venlilated place they will take a few days to dry properly (you'll get rings of the worms trying to escape). when they are dried properly stick them all into a blender powder them up together ready for dosing
1-5 dried grams small dose
5-10 grams medium dose
10-30grams heavy dose
(i shouldn't have to say to start low)

now as to whether you are nauseous or not is kinda a gamble of the few time i have done them its been a 50/50 mix on whether i was or not
the most profound experiance i have had on them was on a new years eve psytrance party i went to. now i was pretty wreaked already. alcohol,mdma,lsd, but when i came up on the flyagaric then i saw some pretty weird stuff
i was watching some people talking/dancing then every coulpe of seconds when they stomped their feet the ground beneath them bent a tiny bit then as their feet came back off the ground kind of a ripple/ void ran up the side of their leg up the body/ arm, up to the tops of their ears where it sat for a second or so (pixie ears).
then i went and sat in the chillout bit i put my head against the concrete wall and my head promptly sank about half way into it lol after that i went for a wander around again and got stuck watching people start doing things backwards people were smoking ciggeretes but the smoke was going back wards people were entering and leaving the place backwards watching people put coats on/take off was mad. by that time i was plastered.
i had a girl i like and been talking to (she didnt normaly goto parties i wasnt expecting her) turn up and tried to tell me thats she loved me. i couldnt even talk to say i was too fucked before i ran away. it wasnt too much longer before i started to convice myself that i wasnt actually walking about and that i had really passed out in a corner somewhere. knowing i had to leave or face a bad trip i left the club and imediatly felt better (i was still fucking plastered)
so i had to make my way thru town to a mates house at 1am newyears day the ripples up peoples legs came back and i had realy make an effort to not just stand and stare at people going home. after getting to my mates house i had a smoke and nothing else eventfull happened.
lol was great fun i wasnt nauseous at all and would have been fine in an outdoor areana

other times havent been anywhere near as profound but i didnt take as much on them. but now i see why all the childrens books and stories have pixies or elves sitting on flyagaircs
