I've recently learned you can extract psilocybin from mushrooms via methanol, chloroform, and some other chemicals (Erowid link for extraction at the bottom). After learning this I devised an *edit->* "idea" (don't know if its already been thought up. Probably, but who knows) that if you could extract the alkaloids that cause you to fry into alcohol, you could then mix that alcohol (with said alkaloids) into a drink of, lets say, cranberry or orange juice and have a delicious drink that causes you to lose your mind.

Any thoughts or experience with this sort of thing?

There is no need to use alcohol or any other chemical for that matter. Psilocybin is water soluable, meaning that you can make mushroom tea with nothing but water.
Personally i have taken a brand new pair of panty hose, chopped up my fresh cubies as finely as possible, and boiled them using the same basic principles as traditional tea, it is esentially a mushroom tea bag.
The less water you use, the more concentrated your juice will be and the less you will need to feel the effects

I had about 100+ grams fresh in about 3 cups of water. Its important to simmer and not boil, exposing psilocybin to boiling temperatures for too long will cause it to start to degrade. you can also do the extraction process 2-3 times to make sure you get all the psilocybin out.
If your juice is concentrated enough, mix about half a water bottle with something like grape coolaid or orange juice for a moderate to strong experience.
It is not completely necessary to mix however, the mushroom tea is not that bad tasting, more like water than anything else, holding your nose seems to be effective.

Thanks for the post. I've made mushroom tea, I just wasn't sure how stable the tea would be in comparison to the alcohol mixture.
