I used to have a friend some years ago who started smoking weed as a teenager, had to see him for a couple of years and a year ago I found him at an underground psy trance party, he was triping hard. after the party I tried to talk to him but he was realy fucked up fortunately i got his cell number, called him and asked him what was going on and he told me that it was nothing and he is using acid on special occations, what's the big deal i said and we carried on talking. after a couple of weeks we went to a party together and in the car he snorted some coke, i asked him what the fuck is going on and i got the same answer, that he was doing it every now and then.. anyways i stopped hanging out with him and last month i got a call from his mother ,which is a close friend to mine , and she said she found some heroin in his room , she asked me if i would know what's going on. i said nothing. my friend disapeared and 1 week later his mother called and told me that she found him ODed at a train station, later that night she called me just to say that he passed away..

My question is : Are there any good reasons a person would try heroin? Since we live in 2009 we got any info we could want in order to know what we are doing..
Can anyone explain me why would a person want to commit suicide by using a drug guaranted to ruin your life? is it so good?

I understand that some people like to run away from life but i just cant understand why...

I dont like drugs, never did any and never gonna do.

First and foremost, I am sorry to hear that your friend passed away... that's shitty and I hope that his mother is doing well along with yourself.

All right, on a serious note.. good reasons someone would do heroin? Recreationally, on the contrary, diacetylmorphine (heroin) is not that dangerous in comparison to opiate/opioids currently prescribed in the US.. the problem is that street heroin is rarely anything close to pure (people are happy with 40% pure... meaning 60% is bullshit).

As to ruining your life, that is all in the hands of the user.. if someone is responsible then heroin isn't going to change that. If you're prone to addiction and do not have the will power to say no to things, keep walking heroin is not for you.

Many people do not know (hence it is a common reason people OD from heroin).. your tolerance drops extremely fast! I have heard some claims saying your heroin tolerance falls after three days of not using.. so if you are booting up a few bags at a time, skip three days, then do the same dose, it may kill you.. therefore, his death may have been a complete accident.

Great info , thanks.. but still i cant understand why a person should do this drug does it worth it? i mean you can easily relax after smoking 5 joints and escape reality , you could trip on acid and escape , do some coke.. whatever but why this drug , i cant get it.. This might not make sense but i m kinda confused at the moment. i just dont get it.

It's not always about running away from things... different people do different substances for obviously, different reasons. To understand everyone from one person's perspective is rather difficult. For instance, one of the only reasons I've tried any substances, is to understand where people who have addictions to those substances are coming from.. if I put myself through what they are going through and then I make myself stop, then maybe I can help someone else who is going through that same struggle stop.

It's hard to tell why people do shit man.

The thing about 2009 and knowledge is that you have to actively look for that truthful information. The federal reserve is the perfect example.

I dont no but i cant understand it either, Im from a small town in ireland and over the past few years heroin has become more rampant. About 2 months ago i was walking down the street and i bumped into a guy i used to be pals with in school, this guy was a clever and popular guy back in school. Just kind of lost touch since we left school as i went away to college. When i met this guy on the street, he called my name, i didnt recognise him at first because he looked so bad, he almost looked homeless. I had a chat with him, i asked him was he ok, then he asked me for the lend of 20 euro, I gave him it because he was an old friend.
Later on i was talking to another old school buddy and he told me "Jay" the guy i met was very bad on herion, he said hes not the same guy he used to be, stealin and shit. I couldnt believe this, this guy was one clever kid in school and very popular, he was also great at sports, he was the last person i would of expected. I felt so bad for him after seeing him that way, but i cant understand it, he could of had everything.

But who knows whats really goin on in these guys heads we dont know there problems they had in there life you no. Personaly Weed and Shrooms, a little bit of xtc every now and them and anything else thats not totally addictive and dangerous does it for me.

You know the feeling you get when you first meet someone that you're interested in, that feeling you get early on in a relationship, giddy-ness, butterflies in your stomache, nervous anticipation of seeing them again??? That's how it feels when you're about to hook-up on some h.
Then, a month into a relationship where both of you are madly in love/lust. You can't get enough of eachother and only feel complete when you're with the other person. They make you feel comfortable in your own skin. All you want to do is lay in bed, wrapped in their arms, glowing. Complete. That's what heroin feels like.
Scoring Heroin feels like falling in love. The high feels like being cradled by your soulmate. Heroin hugs the soul.
Mind you it doesn't feel like this in the begining. The first few times i did h, it lasted from 5-8 hours and felt like one really long ecstasy roll. Except there wasn't a "roll" per se. It comes on, peaks, and plateaus like lsd but has the "soul-hugging" feeling of e.

Oh, and people do heroin for the same reason they do cocaine, smoke ganja, eat shrooms, so on and so forth. Because it feels good. If the myth that people do drugs to escape/numb-out/run away from problems, anesthesia would be their drug of choice.
