Don't necessarily replicate, I might have just gotten lucky. So I've been doing some mushie cultivation for some time now and I don't have a pressure cooker so I mainly do PF style cakes. Have done grain w/ a pressure cooker that I had borrowed from a friend but nothing in a while. So recently I got some PESA spores. I've done Golden Teacher, Treasure Coast, and TEX. And innoculated 4 jars w/ the PESA and 1 w/ TC. After full coloniztation I let them sit an extra week like usual, took them out and dunked for 24 hours in a fridge then rolled in verm and tossed in my fruiting chamber. I did everything exactly the same as usual and in the first flush I usually get between 6 and 15 mushrooms per cake w/ a few extra extremely small aborts. Well this time was different.
Once put in fruiting chamber I air it out 2-3 times a day and have a light on usually 12 on 12 off. This time I did a lot less light here and there and after 10 days and no pinning I went on a 3 day vacation. My friend who was gonna look over 'em ended up being out of town and for 3 days they were in total darkness and no air exchange. 14 days after birth I get back and start fanning and introducing light again but the light is more 4 on 20 off. Late as hell but 16 days after birth they start pinning, few on one cake few on another. Went out for a day and when I came back 2 cakes had over 50 pins each and the other 3 had a very very very lot as well. All grew full and was almost like a God send. Just got done with first flush and am waiting for them to start pinning for the next flush now. Just thought I'd write that, it is just crazy to me.
Sadly I don't have a camera that I could have shown you guys, don't hate. The money from these is so I can go to Oaksterdam in Michigan.
