I think the guy was talking about DXM. DXM is the active ingredient that is used to prevent coughs in over-the-counter cold and/or cough medicines.
I don't recommend doing it but if you do, take safety precautions. Google them.

You can trip on DXM, yes. What's harmful is if there are other active ingredients in what you're taking. Zicam max is probably the only thing around aside from Robitussen. Mostly, people take Delsym or Coricidin. The first is syrup and the second is pills. Coriciden has an antihistemine in it, which can be dangerous in large amounts, however, if you take ten pills, that's not enough to do damage.

Yeah man do not do jimson weed, it actually can kill you very easily. not to mention the trips are supposed to be absoloutely insane and can last for a few days.
