PLEASE: Only talk if you know what you are talking about from experience and knowledge of fungi

I received an ounce of some unknown strain of mushies, but they are very very dark and black, you can only see the white in some parts. Dude says they are just dried improperly but you will still trip from them. I think this is horseshit and am tempted to run back to his house to get what's mine back... i mean, black shrooms It seems like a recipe for disaster.

My main question is: is it safe to eat them? He claims they are grown hydro

Mushrooms Gone Bad VERY Often Go Black. I Would Not Eat These. It Is Possible They Are Psilocybe Caerulescens. It's Caps Can Often Be Black But I Wouldn't trust It. Well, I Would Try It But You Shouldn't.

By gone bad, what do you mean. If they are simply just way less potent than they should be, then i'll still eat them
But if "bad" means harmful bacteria, mold, ect. that will make me sick then i'll toss them

Get your money back or throw those in the trash. My guess is he left them in a plastic bag when they were fresh. The black coloring can in no way be a good thing it's some type of mold or bacteria. Hydro grown mushrooms? lol....not possible.

Only black shrooms I would eat are those that got dusted with spores from taller shrooms. And then only if I grew it myself and knows this is all that happened.
