Don't know where you live so it might be slower (I'd assume because I live about an hour from them). But a few weeks ago I put my money in the mailbox on a monday and that following friday I got my package. 4 days later and a little white discreet package...that was a nice thing too. Seemed like it was way too fast and I am very pleased. 5 Jars are fully colonized and going to fruit tomorrow. (Mothers day stalled me doing it today) and I have 5 more jars at half colonization incubating.

Yeah, when they arrived I rode around and got all the materials needed for the PF tek. BTW it wasnt last monday, it was like a month ago, I stalled a week before making the jars but they colonized quick. Started slow, I was looking at them too much so I started to check on them once every 5 days and that was much better. You get nervous quickly when you look every day and it seems like not much is happening.
Well, good luck and wish me some as today is my birthing day.

It takes a week. You guys need to stop with the PF tek and go straight to grain, you can get a lot more mushrooms that way...

Yeah. I've been lazy and haven't gotten a pressure cooker yet. I've been slow because I've gotten very lucky with NO contams but I do want to be able to use the grain and more easily break up the grain then trying to break up these cakes.

I rarely get contams on the grain, if I do it would be from a contaminated syringe.

First I boil a pot of water, then I rinse the grains off.

Once the water has boiled take it off the burner and dump in the bird seed floaters and all.

Let it sit with the top on for 1 hour.

Pour thru a strainer and then rinse again.
Take the strainer and shake out all the excess water, move it up and down, when only a few drops come out put it into jars and pc for an hour.

For the lid I just use a piece of tyvek, you can get envelopes at the Post Office for free, they say priority mail on them.

Cut a square and put a piece of polyfill in the middle and screw the lip on.

It's really easy to do birdseed and not much of a jump from pf-tek. making bulk is simple too. Let me know if you need a recipe...
