Yea those will work fine. You're going to lose some surface area with the cone shape, but it does not look like much.

Really. I was thinking that it would be opposite since the wide part is on top (where the mushies will grow). Anyone else have any ideas, I want a mini grow to go along with my larger one. I have a mini FC for extras

these cups are perfectly fine. you want something that allows you to "hit" the cake out of afterwards. Some jars cave inwards, others have a lip outwards (like the picture).

make sure you add the top layer of DRIED verm in your mix, and put on a proper lid with some microporous materials.

Im going to use two layers of foil, keep it all in a sterile sprayed down plastic contatiner, the grow will be cheap so yeah we will see how it goes.

The mushrooms are going to grow all over the cake not just on the top. More substrate + more exposed surface area = more mushrooms. These cups will work perfectly fine though.

people have used "bottles" for years, since the 60s atleast.

the open/exposed substrate on the top allows for the air exchange, and the mushrooms grow towards it. You will get less crops than a casing method however.

Even still, you WILL get mushrooms, probably a 1/8th oz every flush, dried.
