Isn't the fruit made out of high density mycelium and the cap is just more densely packed. Could be wrong so dont quote me on that.

Dude, wtf you come in here asking a legitimate question, then when you get responses, you dispute those responses? You're an idiot.

The whole fruiting body of the mushroom (from the base of the stem, up to the top of the cap) is ALL hallucinogenic. The spores, however, are not. The laws are set up against shrooms because they are a hallucinogen; if the spores where hallucinogenic, they wouldn't be legal for sale.

You will get off on stems just as much as you would from caps. Some dealers say caps are everything, probably because they want some dumbass who doesn't know any better to fall for it and end up paying a premium price.

I myself am proof; i've eaten JUST stems many times and have gotten off just as well than if it was all caps. Its still all dried weight. Do your homework.

Here is some info that was on the Shroomery Forum. This is evidently from a Japanese study.

"The psilocin/psilocybin contents in P. cubensis were in the range of 0.17–0.78%/0.44–1.35% in the cap and 0.09–0.30%/0.05–1.27% in the stem. Hallucinogenic alkaloids (psilocin and psilocybin) have a tendency to be contained in the cap more than the stem. Our results are in agreement with the findings of Wurst et al. [8] who found lower concentrations of psilocybin in the stem than in the cap of the hallucinogenic fungus, Psilocybe bohemica. P. cubensis samples also had a tendency to contain larger amounts of psilocybin than psilocin. This tendency is consistent with results reported by Bigwood and Beug [4]......"
