are you use multi-spore syringe?

try to make liquid culture next time... google it up for the recipes..you dont have to wait for the spores to germinate since it is mycelium growing already...

Also, temperature is important, but the CO2 exchange is far more important... thats why materials like Tyvec (that breathe, but dont allow contaminants in) are a god send. jars will still colonize fine at room temperature, but will take longer, allowing for contams to come into the fray...

some simple suggestions:
next round..after you have sterilized your jars in the PC..take that foil off and cover the holes with micro-pore tape (walgreens-first aid section)

then when you are ready to innoculate the jars..stick the syringe through the tape and inject spores, then cover all holes with another layer of micro-pore tape. this just helps with the CO2 exchange that archdemon highlighted.

another thing..make yourself a simple incubator out of 2 plastic tubs. fill first tub with some water, spend 30 bucks and get yourself a submersible water heater and put that at the bottom. Place the second tub in the first and put your jars in and close lid. The tub with your jars sits in the warm water which keeps temps perfect.

YUP this is a tested and efficient method... heaters are even cheaper now.

another good spot (that actually works quite well) that is cited alot, is ontop of the fridge (if you have a cupboard).

Thanks jolly green. I actually used the medical tape on them (just forgot to mention that). And I put the tinfoil over that. And I tryed the "over the fridge method" but my fridge is weird and really honestly produces no heat on top. The heating pad I used is actualy working really well. It's just slightly above room temp. and is keeping the cupboard where they are at around 75 degrees. I'll post some more pics in a few days. Thanks for all the helpfull info guys.
