I had order some mushroom spores from sporebank and got a bag of Blue Afghani seeds for free. I was wondering if anyone could give me or lead me in the direction of information about growing, harvesting and processing the poppy plant into opium.

Also, how much does Opium sell by the gram/ounce?

I wouldn't try it from what I hear a lot of poppys are needed for even the smallest amount of opium so it probably wouldn't be worth it. I'll look for a thread on it though.

Opium goes for anywhere between 10$-20$ a gram.

Thanks for the link and info. Only $10-20? I could probably get away selling it for $30 to some of the douche bags here.... I swear you have to be careful who you buy weed from here.

Well, thank you. I'm pretty certain I know most I need to know now about cultivating them and everything. Can anyone tell me if Northeastern US will be good for them to start growing now?

Opium poppies require that you work your ass off to get miniscule results (granted they may be enjoyable results, I don't think that mass production by yourself is something that you'd really want to look into. Maybe if you want some for yourself that's fine).

Opium is extremely, extremely rare, hence expensive in my area. To be quite honest, it depends where you are in the country and how many other suppliers there are in your area. If it's rare 20-30 a gram maybe slightly more?

Poppies grow like wild fire just about anywhere. Yeah they will grow even up in tha good ol' New England region

Again, thank you to all. I don't want to grow them for myself. I was actually really hoping to receive some San Pedro cactus seeds instead as my gift but was disappointed to find these.... they can't all be winners I guess. And I can't really sell the seeds for that much can I? So my best bet is to just grow them out and if I get anything from it I'll be happy. Honestly, I'm very satisfied with sporebank because I got another syringe for free when I ordered my first one. I just got 24 cc's of Golden Teacher spores!
