i heard to cut a slice into the stalk of the papaver somniferum to get the white juice that drips out. then dry the juice and smoke whats left? does this work?

If you grow them and scratch them for the opium, you run the risk of seizure by the man. If you grow them and let them dry you can claim they are for floral arrangements. They have the burden of proof, you were inteading to use them for illegal use. The dry poppy pods do contain raw opium even in dried form. Use a coffee grinder and make yourself some "Mad Hatter" tea.
You can buy these dry poppy pods online, without the floral coating they add to preserve them. I think you can them for a 50 cents to $1 each online. An average dose would be 4-5 pods in your tea.

Got a website where a fellow could get these dried pods? I looked myself but all I can find are places that sell them in extreme bulk, 200+ for the price you listed there. I only want 20-40 of them....
