I think you may be making matters more complicated than needed IMO. You can simply use CWE to extract LSA, or you could use IPA or high proof ethanol (everclear) if you wanted to get "fancy" if you will. But what tek are you using that requires an acid? If you really need one, I would use Acetic (vinegar), muriatic (dilute hcl), or citric.

Tartaric acid and citric acid are in the same family, I never heard of tartaric acid in candy but surely wines, bananas and it wouldn't surprise me if it was in some candy.

It would work if you need an acid and not as strong as nitric or HCL, I wouldn't mind making a couple grams of cocaine tartrate.

i feel dumb asking this but what is lsa extracted from?
