I don't do it very often: I bought 2 grams over a year ago and I still have some left over (it was still quite potent the last I tried it a couple months ago). LOL

Salvia doesn't give me a "laughing" kind of high - it's kinda like being trapped for a while in an alternate universe that has nothing in common with reality as we know it. The peak only lasts 5-10 minutes, but that can FEEL like literally hours or even ages sometimes. (Oral doses last longer but extract doesn't work orally for some reason).

I've experienced hallucinations of being involved in weird shamanic rituals while doing Salvia, I lived a lifetime as a tree once while watching the world and seasons fly by me at what seemed a greatly accelerated timescale while I was virtually standing still, re-lived alternate versions of experiences I had earlier in my "real" life - with different outcomes as a result, and other odd things.

Salvia is not like being "high" in my opinion at all though. Most of the time I completely lose track of reality while I am under the influence of Salvia - like reality temporarily totally ceases to exist and is replaced by whatever alternate "reality" is induced by the salvia. It's always very interesting, but not always necessarily pleasant.

As for how much to take, just do one hit at a time. When you've had enough, you will simply be unable to take another hit because you will no longer be functional at all in this reality for about 10-15 minutes. LOL If the stuff you get is decent quality extract, it will only take 1-2 hits of 10x before you will be "elsewhere".

Don't do this stuff in public, make sure you have a peaceful and comfortable environment when you do it, and if at all possible have a sitter you trust who won't fuck with your head while you are under the influence. =)

I did 20x once. I loaded up my ~3 footer and took a fat rip of just salvia. I sat down on the floor and 10 seconds later I felt like I was melting into the floor and there was a pressure covering my body. The walls got tall, dark and looked like they were from alice in wonderland (only I was still seeing in real-life, not cartoon). I had techno playing on my computer and that added to the weirdness of the scene when it looked like the 1 open double-doorway out of this room was closing like a mouth trying to eat me. I also thought, "man, this room is trying to eat me. I should get out" I get to my knees because the salvia gravity keeps from really wanting to stand. I move approx 2 feet closer to the doorway when I notice that its normal.

I heard some voices coming from another corner of the room where there was no one. I honestly think I fought this intense high too much because the voices were saying, "chill out" in a soft tone. So after I hear voices that I rationalize as coming from the room's stomach, I sit in my computer chair and see my AIM away msg. I remember, "oh yeah everything must be normal. I remember typing that and then doing salvia....oh ok thats what happened." During the next couple of mins (2-6) The room returned to normal and so did gravity.

The trip felt like it lasted 3-4 hours but it was ~5 mins. Afterwards I felt very disoriented. I forgot what time of day it was, and "what the situation was" (aka my hippie roomy downstairs watching judge judy and no one else home). In a matter of minutes though I felt oriented fine but jittery for another 20. An hr after the trip, its like it didn't even happen.

I had some 5X... been waiting for a good chance to see what it's all about, well I'm outa gange the other night...so I pack the bowl, take 1 good hit...nada chico... fire it up and take a deep hit, set the pipe down... I'm sitting in my shop over my garage, next thing I know, the room turns into a fucking flower, and I feel like one of the petals, and I can't move... as I'm thinking to myself... fuck this shit comes on waaaay to fast, there isn't even an inkling that it's coming, then I notice I can move... so I stand up, then the room becomes round, and I can't get to the door to save my life... so I decide to wait a few more minutes to let it subside, then I attempt to walk to the door, which felt like it took an eternity... I stagger in the house.... then it's gone, like someone shut off a light switch.
Next thought... ah, yes fuck this shit... give me some good acid any-day... where you can discern when it's coming on, and you can separate from the trip if you want when you want, go with it.... or tone it back. Salvia is like in the blink of an eye, welcome to Pan's Labrinth....poof, why the fuck am I a bannana? hold on to your lugnuts time for an out of body experience....It's cool & interesting for the experience, but since I'm not a shaman or tibetan monk...I'm all set with this shit...
One thing it is probably good for is that one friend that always is the one saying "fuck yeah bring it on, I can handle it... nothing scares me" oh, yeah fucknut... here take a hit off this....

i got some today i have to wait for it to still get here but i got it from salviadragon.com and the prices are realy good for a ounce of salvia and 2 grams of 10x it was like 50 bucks with free shipping and a torch lighter

When you take salvia orally, the experience does come on much slower and lasts a lot longer - it's not nearly so disorienting as smoking it. It's also much more difficult to consume extreme doses like it is so easy to receive when smoking salvia (especially extract). I've never had an oral dose that was unpleasant, but fully half of my smoked doses were not necessarily all that pleasant.

However extract doesn't work orally for some reason - you need to suck on a quid of fresh leaves for about 20-30 minutes and it's nasty: like sucking on a bar of soap nasty. LOL Quids of re-hydrated (formerly dried) leaves work as well, but they seem significantly less potent than fresh. Any salvia you swallow won't work either, the active compound must be held in your mouth and won't even begin to have any effect for 15 minutes or so. Tinctures work as well (and are much less unpleasant), but quality tinctures are pretty expensive.
