so the other day i started to try out my hand at growing shrooms via the pf tek... used 1pint jars and being completely new to this i screwed em up right off the bat... didnt fill most of the jars with enough of the verm/brf mix... ended up shooting my spores into just dry verm (at the top) on a few jars because the needle didnt reach into the verm/brf mix... i have them all incubating anyway, in case by the grace of god some spores happen to have made their way into the mix.... but on a brighter note; i found a friend with a pressure cooker, so i will be trying again tonight... few jars of wbs, and a couple of more jars for cakes... hopefully i can make something work...
kinda figured i'd do something dumb; thats why i got 4syringes..
anyone got any comments, tips, or suggestions, please feel free

get your shit together for a fruiting chamber now. get casing materials now, the clock is ticking and you don't want to screw up because of timing/laziness.

damn bro; sounds like you know me... i was thinking about that today... i'll prob go out and get the perlite and tubs tommorrow (assuming im not gonna crumble and case on the first grow, dont know yet though)
got the pressure cooker today.. gonna do some more jars for cakes and prob. one jar of the bird seed... see how that works for me....

once you do grains you won't go back. spend some $$ on a big pressure cooker and use quart jars of grain.

that seems to be the general consensus on shroomery; (bout the grains), but i had already bought the materials for pf... shroomery is damn hard to navigate also (i love RIU)... having a hard time figuring out what to actually do... fungus cultivation makes me 2nd and 3rd guess myself.... guess i'll just pick a tek and try it out... what do you think about wbs??? i have read that it sucks compared to rye and millet.....

WBS is cheap and available. I use 50/50 rye/millet.

my tek of choice currently is "grains for simple minds". google it, I don't know if it's on shroomery.

yeah I tried the pftek starting out and it didn't go so well. I'm all about using 100% rye grain and my $40 pressure cooker i got at the indoor flea market; it fits like 9 quart jars in it. B+ all the way
