i just inoculated 12 1 pint jars with 1 12 cc syringe. i have another 12 cc syringe for backup in case i fail and need to try again. for the most part i followed this standard pf tek

also used some other suggestions from other brf and vermiculite pf teks.

the only liberty i took was to prepare 4 jars with a self sealing silicone barrier before i started the project. i just drilled 4 holes in each cap and applied a silicone sealant to both sides of the cover on the jars. i let it dry for 24 hours then did it again.

those 4 prepared jars i used without foil. so far all i can say about that is that it was much easier and cleaner to inject the needle into the silicone. if it works then i'll do that for all the jars from now on. if not than no big deal. it was just an idea...

Yeah man, my friend used the EXACT same method. His cakes starting pinning, but then he got RAPED by mold. You need to disinfect everything, everyday. And get some air sanitizer, like industrial grade or you will probably get lots of mold too. good luck tho.

thanks a lot man, i sanitized the crap out of everything and sprayed like mad. hopefully that will do it. i just read that leaving the outer later of tin foil off ofter inoculation is fine because the top layer of vermiculite acts as barrier to airborne pathogens and contaminates. hope thats true...

no pressure cooker? strike one
silicone sealed the jars? strike two
foil on top of the jars? stike three
newbie experimenation? stike four

after pressure cooking, i don't sterilize any equipment or supplies or anything. air sanitizer is useless, sterility in the surrounding area is useless. i use unwashed barehands in my dirty kitchen when working on my stuff. i go 100% contaminant free and get great yields.

it's good you got a second syringe, might as well start another batch right now. no matter what happens with this one, you'll be happy you started more.

i think tho, with the exception of the 4 jars it's not an experiment, it's a pf tek done as described. it reads that using a large double boiler is just as effective when used properly. and the foil wraps are also exactly as described, with a total of 3 layers, and folded and placed on top.

i thought i followed the tek perfectly for those 8 jars??

also just to be clear i didn't seal the jars, i sealed the inoculation holes.

good luck, still, start the next batch soon... and order some more syringes soon... i'd really suggest a pressure cooker, and read about grains.

i use to grow alota psilocybe cubensis now its weed looking good mang!
