come on, short answer is: yes.... if you're lucky

read shroomery.org,

crumble a few caps over a compost pile, it can work

the real answer is no, you grow anything but whatever plant is in the pot. and depending on your location, weather conditions are poor for growing mushrooms.

a person has to really try to grow mushrooms outside, mostly for the novelity not the performance.
