i'm gonna try to grow some shrooms.
ive been lucky enough to have been given B+ spore print and syringe.
i bought a 8qt pressure cooker (didnt have cash for 16 or 22 qt)
i have pint jars and vermiculite
wondering if i should get some brown rice flour or something else and where to get it
im not really sure of everything ill be needing.
a little help please from experienced shroom growers

hell ya, to do pf tek you need brown rice flour and verm. the bfr can be bought at health food stores i found mine at krogers $3 2 pounders. the verm can be found at lowes or homedepot about $4 this will help>>>PF-Tek for Simple Minds | Fungifun goodluck im along for the ride dont for get perlite $3-4 so about $20more and you'll be good......... post a pic of what u have ....

hey if there is a hydroponics store near by they will have verm and purlite in bulk for like 20 a bag. but should be enough to last a while

no hydro stores anywhere near me. only walmart and lowes
i think i have enough verm for the first round, but ill get more.
perlite is on the list along with BRF.
going back to walmart today to see if i can find BRF, id hate to order online and have to pay S&H.

I'll follow the PF-Tek for simple minds, seems easy enough just be extra clean

few more questions..
what to use to poke the holes? i dont own a ice picker, might add one to the list.
and when sterilizing the needle with a flame, will an ordinary Bic do?

i used SMALL nails and a hammer. set the lid on a chunk of wood nail holes in it. Make sure the needle will go in the hole. i dont use a bic to heat the needle. Just an old shot glass with rubbing alcohol in it then light it. careful cause it burns clear. use that to flame the needle. after that i wipe the needle w/ alcohol on a paper towel. then shoot up the jars 1 cc per jar.

I'm at the same point as JollyGreenGiant, minus the pressure cooker but plus the brown rice flower. I have a spore syringe of Amazon Cubensis. How much room should I set aside for the process? If I'm moving into a new location in the next few weeks, should I go ahead and wait until I move before starting the operation?

i also need to make a stand for the jars in the pressure cooker..ive got some left over chicken wire from my scrog, you think i can make that work?

the syringe you were sent IS reuseable, just be sure to boil.........the fencing should work i made mine to keep jars about one inch off bottom

alright, i went out in search of BRF and the only store i think i can find it was closed today so ill have to wait.
sucks because i really wanted to cook up some jars tonight.
do i need coffee filters? they dont use any in the PF-Tek for simple minds

ill be making a fruiting chamber after i buy the other materials
