I have a Digital Greenhouse brand 400w HPS digital ballast with air cooled hood. Its worked great for about a month on 12/12, but now shuts down randomly. The ballast is even cooled, I built a duct around it to flow the exhaust air over it.

The top of the hood maintains a pretty steady 90 degrees F and the ambient room air is about 85 and no higher. Could I have gotten a cruddy bulb that the ballast is reading as shit so it cuts off. Or do you think my ballast is going tits up. I will call HTG tomorrow and try to sort it out. Fuck about halfway through flowering too.

That sucks man, get on the phone with HTG ASAP. I heard that they have decent customer service, best of luck to ya.

temps are to high to. shouldn`t realy get over 80. i`d return it. with the light randomly shutting down watch for hermies

i added some cfls as a backup so the light cycle wont get to messed up and the temp was measured a about 6 inches above the light so i imagine it registers abit higher than the grow itself. I would move the gauge and measure the temp at the canopy itslelf but oooh i guess i cant my light doesn't work.
