| | Haha i think my other grow thread has turned into a keep the mother alive for viable clones, and thoguhts on what i can do to this box and to her to keep her until i can get one or two good cloness, and then scrog them for real in the box, stick with cfl's and then upgrade to the hps. Or trim the fk out of mama waiting for buddage and keep trying clones until i get one lol.
I dunno.... |

| | i think you are doing it right... this thread about the new cab and that thread about the grow.
when you get one of the clones finally growing in this cab start a new grow thread and run it out from there

| | Oh........yea! I'm excited to restart honestly, i just want to get a few real good clones going with perfect health to try with a clean slate with a 100% lady.
I think i may build a hood out of aluminum flashing that i own, cut them with tin sheers, self tapping screws for sheet metal, or rivets. I just need a socket to attach it with, and a coupling for duct work. Most likely in a 1/2 cylinder shape, flat bottom of hood will be plexi. Gotta get a socket for the bulb, then i may do a 150w kit. |

| | Gonna bring this thread back from the dead, as i'm renovating my box, for a more perminent fixture. 150w HPS center mounted up high.
What i'm looking for though is a low profile hood to hold the bulb that is vented, mabey max 5" deep my Y dimension, X and Z not really an issue, but cheap as possible, with a side output for air cooling.
Right now i'm looking at the minifloralux from htgsupply, but the hood vent is on the top which is another 6" for a smooth vent turn, so that makes up at least 10" height, but size is good on overall dimensions minus the vent up top. Others are just way expensive and too large.
I mean i can make one, but i'd like to keep this simply, and metal or glass is not on the simple or economical side, and i'm unsure of bulb temperture, ie fire.
Interior dimensions i'd like to stay inside would be 14x14x6" with a side air hole 4" round.
I plan on hanging it from the top and directly venting the hood to the side, direct shot with a carbon filter.
My first choice is still the minifloralux 150 at htgsupply.

| | Is there a way i could modify it to remove the air from another area on it, just trying to keep the vertical dimensions as low as possible, to push it as high up and not have ducting in the way that will leave 1.5ft of vertical room with a scrog. Unsure of how close i need to keep it away as well to keep them from burning, as i've read 7-8" so that leaves 12" of vertical room...
The 150w mini is the plan unless i can find a cheaper better solution. The 150w 2 part looks nice but the hood is massive. Not really planning on moving it, shouldn't need to.
Also what kind of quality are the 150w ballast kits that you find online, my only fear is no thermal protection that digital/magnetic do have i bleieve, thats my only concern, and i'm thinking of just making a hood, though heat transfer is my worry then with metal.
