i have a 3ft long 2 1/2ft wide 8ft tall closet with a Aeroponics setup in it. Im using a 400w HPS setup with a MH conversion bulb for veg. I just got all this setup yesterday, so when i went to leave for work i turned the light on. When i came home the closet was between 90-100 degrees (no thermometer atm working on it) Is there a simple way to run venting for this closet? im on a very tight budget now that i have all my equip. I also put a tower fan in the closet to circulate air, but im afraid the room will be 2 hot for me to run 18/6 or 24/0 light in it. This is my first indoor grow, and im completely lost as to the venting problem

Are you able to cut holes in the drywall of the closet and/or the closet door?

Where can you vent fresh air to your closet from?

the walls of the closet are block, except for the outside wall of it it is sheet rock. I want to avoid cutting any holes except for maybe in the ceiling of the closet as so its not that easy to notice. I ran the light today in the closet for about 8 hours, with the ballast sitting outside the room and i think maybe that will work for the time being, but i still need fresh air into the closet, or will opening the door while the light is on be sufficient? i can always exhaust the air from the room outside via boxfans hehe.

I have a closet the same dimensions as yours, check out what i did with cutting a hole in the ceiling, and installing a carbon scrubber inline fan combo. I must say though it was pretty pricey, and its not enough to even air out the closet with 4 cfls. You're best bet is to just leave the door open all the time and aim a cheap Walmart turbofan into it, or get a an intake as well as an exhaust (that was my problem)

i would get some 4-5" venting tube (that tube stuff that vents from your dryer).. wire up a couple cpu fans or some more powerful exhaust fans.. cut out a couple holes on ur closet door.. you can always put a vent cover on it or something to cover up holes. anyways, just have one fan pulling air out and the other pulling air in.. i ghetto-rigged a system like this in my college dorm and got a house a/c filter cut some circles out of it and put it in the tube on the intake side. wire them up and bam you have some air flow.. i put a boxes fan also blowing into the exhaust tube along with the fan inside the tube. its quite simple and not that expensive either... hope it helps. so what's up with sum clonies?

get a duct fan and duct it to a carbon filter in attic, then get a air cooled reflector, vent into attic throug attic, 3 holes but unless you get a tent thats the best you can do without leaving the closet

Im surprised temps only hit 100 with no ventalation!!! Stay away from cpu fans for anything this large in my opinion.

If smell is a concern than i would exhaust through your ceilling with it. Idealy get a cooltube. I run a cool tube w/ a 600 in 36 cu ft and my max temps get to about 91 with no exhaust or intakes of air. You have a 400 in 60 cu ft so I am sure you would be able to keep your numbers in the mid/high 80s with this approach assuming are ambients are comparable.

If you are broke man and stealth isn't an issue leaving the door open will work. Or even going down and getting a cheap door and rig an intake and exhaust on it with some big ass box fans...lol... and replace the original when you done.
