I currently have an AMS (1) plant growing inside my closest. I am using an aerogarden that was discarded by my mother, and besides the stock light in the aero i also have a 400 HPS, as well as 225 watts of compact fluorescents. Im really confused which light should i stick with? any tips would be appreciated.

if heat isn't an issue and you have adequate ventilation then I'd go the 400, but if you're not able to ventilate well - i.e just a computer fan or something similar, then go with CFLs.
You can flower and flower well with HPS, but what spectrum are the CFLs you have? |
