I'm considering light movers
Lets say I have 4 4x4 trays with 1000 watts over each... I know light movers seems unnecessary because many people believe 1000 watters are perfectly suited for a 4x4 area because afterall, it is 62.5 watts a sqft... but... is it really? I'm starting to think that 62.5 watts a sqft would only apply to the area directly under the bulb and that the intensity would disperse as the distance from the bulb increased... it's logical enough to assume at least.... Well either way, I'm aiming for the mythical 3lbs a light and I'm thinking that light movers, even over such a short distance might be the way to go... it's at least worth an experiment... Please please please chime in with your opinions, especially if you're familiar with light movers... thanks in advance...
If you have a reflector on your bulb it is absolutely fine and yes, you could install movers and all but WHY? They will only move minimally in a 4x4 area considering the size of a top-end reflector. Not to mention the heat buildup there. Often a 600 is sufficient for your sized area and can be a superior acquisition. Less electricity to alert authorities, less heat and smaller heat signature, more productive per watt usually.
Light mover is mainly used in a bigger area to avoid using more wattage. For example if you could only do 4x4, you would add the rail and double your plant numbers or close to it.
Sadly moving your light will not increase your quantity, espesially to the 3 pound mark! If your looking to increase yeild get yourself 2 400 watt lights and surround the plant. Flooding the light from different angles will work way better that a mover.
And... if you really think that a moving 1000 w will simulate the suns actions...
Reach out with your hands once a day at noon, and rotate your plants 180 degrees...
Or sheiot, at 9am turn them 90 degrees...
then at noon... another...90 degrees...
Rotate them around so the middle plant spends some time on the edge...
Yes that's what a trichome is all about...I mean it's like a white river of THC.....
"Look at your fingers... smell them... OMG it's like a heavenly wonderous beautiful scent, of goodness..."
I rotate mine 3 times a day but it's just one plant so I can easily. 1000w over a 4x4 and you want a light mover.... personally I would use a 600 over a 4x4 table but I also would be sure to have reflective walls at 5x5 so the light can go past the plant and reflect back
Yeah I agree 1000w for a 4x4 space is plenty. I use a light mover but my room is 4x12 with one 600w. I love my mover i have almost double the plant count with it, but i've noticed my buds dont quite harden up like I like them, compared to if I was just blasting them with a static light.
