150 watt HPS grow box inside shed

I'm makeing that same move now, my wife is kicking me out to the garage. A 150 watter should'nt throw that much heat, but you still want to bring in fresh air. As for light leaks, you can either try to run most of your cycle through the daylight hours or go out in the early morning and at night turn on the light find the leaks the get some weather striping to fill in the cracks. If your shed has any windows you probably want to cover them from the inside with a darker material. But leave a little space for venting, cuz this would be a great place to ge your freash air source.

thanks man, its great to have found someone in the same situation i have the same problem of having to move out the home except it isnt the wife, its the mother :P any help would be great man im trying to figure out whether or not to go for a box within the shed that i will insulate, im not to sure. yeah i was thinking venting could be through the window however this may mean that i would need to upgrade my fan ive got a 4" inline fan 100mm. im not to sure ive never ran a HPS before only CFL.

Dude a 150 watt hps outside is fine ..also I HIGHLY DOUBT any helicopter would even bother to look at ur shed ..unless u live in pre war nazi germany lol ..

Think about it a 65 watt incandescent might throw more heat ..

And as far as ventilation ..unless it gets really warm u might not need more than a 4 inch duct fan ..if it is really warm that 4 inch inline + speed controller will be fine ...I would just light proof the box and ur good to go

so i will not even need to vent the heat out the shed ?i have a 4" fan but a friend has offered me a larger fan + filter for free. ive never used hps before thats why i do not know about the heat they produce. ok so i don't need to insulate the shed/box either ?

im running a 150w hps in a frame 2.4ft high 3ft in length 1.5ft width i struggle to keep the heat in and with 2 small 50cfm pc fans my temps stay around 67 unless i turn the fans off

I use a big cardboardy tote, 3 x 3 x 5. You still want to bring in freash air, and get your leaves move'n. The leaves can only obsorb the c02 that sits about 1/4" away from the leaves themselfs. And with no new air is no new c02. The plant still grows, but with the air suppy it will boom.
