So I have a friend who has a mobile home. Underneath there is close to 4 feet of space. Since it is somewhat outdoors the temps will be low at night. I will box in a area where the plants will be setup and have a fan blowing,and small heater. I will have 2 vanity lights. each one with 8 23w=100watt CFL's.

How many plants would I be able to have?
I'm thinking probably 4. But I had a friend who did 6-9

Veg for month and a half and then flower for 2. There will be another boxed off area for flowering. with the same light setup.


Give me comments and idea's

the buds might be tiny if you use 100 watts for anything more than 2 plants. it would work to get a little homgrown though.

just try and make sure each plant has 1 foot for itself. and remember most plants double in size by the time they are done flowering.

and if you have 4 feet of space, if you want to get a decent yield i would veg for 3 or 4 weeks and flower for 5 weeks.. depending on your strain..

if you have 200watts worth the lights, i would try and give more to the flowering plants.

How about screen of green? Keep the plants low, maximize light efficiency. Good luck with security, it will be difficult.

Yeah Ricky would love this grow. Is there any way you could upthe lighting a little? I'm thinking 250 watt MHs or something like that in CFLs ( I know nothing about CFL growing). Keep us informed of progress please.

What,Me Worry??

I was talking about 800 watts of clf per vanity so every 3 plants is getting 400 watts

6 plants 1600 watts? seem like enuff. I need to wait till the weather is warmer at night.. right now its around the high 30's at night maybe low 40's which is pretty cold. Not sure how warm it is under the house tho. probably not to much warmer. A small heater should help at night.

Security seems like a issue but it will be set up as to even if someone looks under there they can't see anything. it will be put in a far away away blocked off and made to blend in like part of under the house. There will be no light leak, smell wont be a issue with heavily scented plants outside the house.

There will be one way in and its the only way out. It blends in perfectly with the house and we will setup some sort of locking device to keep out intruders. The house faces a direction where noone around will see you go in or out.

How does this all sound so far?

.....another thing about the cfl's.... and 23=100watts.... That's a comparison; I am shocked someone hasn't already brought this up to you Chaotic. And I am not saying I know the 'real' numbers but for our use of them they in no way compare to 100watts. I use the 42watt cfl's from HD($9ea) in a clone room(6 of them for a bubbler and anything I may be starting from seed) and these put off a bit of heat too, though not much. If you want any nice tight bud at all I 'd really try to get a minimum 250hps for your 12/12 cycle and do as has been suggested and go SOG or ScrOG..... When you consider the risks and efforts(and $), you dont want a big bag of BIG leaf do you??
And dont take me wrong, Bro! I wish you the very best. I am MH and HPS all the way, until the MH room is too crowded-----everything even goes much slower with the cfl's.

Hi. What lumens do your CFL's give out? Normally 23w will give you 1500lumens. You need a min of 3000lumens per square foot minimum, this makes you bare minimum with 4 feet and 8 Cfl's (4 plants is plenty). My last grow (2 plants) I used 4 in a 1' x 2' (2 square feet) box that was 3' high. That was 3000 lumens per square foot and I was happy with the results. I have nothing to compare it too but I got bud and I got stoned. This time going for 6 23w Cfl's so 4500 lumens per square foot. Will post pics when I start again.

Well i'm using 8 23w CFL's right now for 2 plants and they are doing wonderful and one of them is ready for harvest. The other is very bushy and has tons of bud spots so it will take a little longer they are just bag seed.

I'm sure with 2 of these vanity setups I can do atleast 6 plants. or maybe 4 really good ones.
