does anyone know how to wire an external thermometer to an A/C ?

I doubt anyone has done this to be honest. a/c's have a little probe in front of the evap coils that monitors temp and it's internally controlled by a board. I doubt anyone would mess around with something like that. It's one of those deals, where the idea seems simple enough but to actually do it would require a great deal of knowledge and not to be a dick, but people on RIU don't seem like the brightest apples.

Sounds "bright" enough.

You might be able to use a 120v plug in thermostat that you would plug a/c into and locate it in your tent. Depends if your a/c will turn back on by itself after power is disconnected. Unplug it while it is cooling on the lowest setting for a few minutes and plug it back in and see if it kicks back on. If it does than it will work if not than you can try the dehumidify mode and do the same thing, mine cools in dehumidify mode. If not you would have to open up and rewire it to kick on after power is disconnected or find a temp. that will keep you in range in the tent.

Yeah,mr2shim. Let folks go cracking rat turds when they don't understand the difference between a thermometer and a thermostat and don't know their ass from a thermocouple or know the difference between any of them!!!!! Okay? Who are you to try and save somebody time and money, eh? Wise guy.

BTW, mr2shim has disagreed with me way more than once on here. Odd thing is I keep picking things up from him because I keep listening to his responses - despite me growing since 1964. Hmmmm. Oh well.

I dont know whether that was insult to me or mr2shim and I did pick up on the guy calling it a thermometer which is why I gave him a simple and cheap possible solution to his problem in detail. That is why people come here is to ask for help because they have not a clue where to start and I would think that if someone is going to take the time and respond to a question they would actually have a useful answer. The guy already purchased the a/c and it wont fit in his tent so now what he is out 350 dollars? Thats saving him time and money?

He posted the same shit on one of my threads yesterday saying everyone on RIU is a tool and figure it out myself. I thought RIU were for fellow growers to share knowledge and make progress not to belittle people and make people feel stupid for asking questions to which they dont know. Im starting to think I might be wrong and RIU is ran by trolls.
