Red face 150w HPS, is this enough, or do I need more?

I have a small closet that has become available to me so I want to setup a small grow room. The room dimensions are 30" wide x 22" deep x 8 feet tall. I was wanting to try and get three auto flowers going in there under a 150w HPS light. For the size of the room, what would be the best light, amount of plants I should try and grow in there?

The strain I want to try is from Auto seeds, Berry Ryder. I also want to set this up using a DWC/Aeroponic Hydroponic System. Any info on my setup would be most appreciated and I will post pics as soon as I get everything setup.

    Peace

You could definitely get more light in there. My tent is 36"x20"x60" and i run a 400w. You're in luck, I only grow with a waterfarm. My last successful grow I believe if I remember right I got just over 5oz dried off it, first time running the setup. People have been known to pull close to a pound off 1 plant with waterfarm+scrog. You can look at my journal in my sig for info. I'm not a huge fan of auto strains. I think photoperiod is much better. All you need is a timer and that really negates the necessity of an auto strain. They also don't yield all that well because they're usually crossed with ruderalis.

I was thinking of upgrading to a 250wHPS. Do you think that will work?

Yeah that's what I am worried about, the heat. That's a nice closet setup you have. You gave me a few ideas. I was thinking of just painting the walls flat white or is it better to line it with mylar or something?

As much as a nice big 400W hps would be sweet, it puts out a lot of heat so you gotta have good ventilation too. I use a 150W hps and 2 68W CFLs. The CFLs add a nice touch to the yield imo because you can get them within inches of the plant and it hardly puts out much heat so you dont need to worry much about heat stress having it close. Just keep a fan on the canopy to disperse the hot spots from the hps & keep the plants moving and not burning. Last yield was just over 3 oz's at 90 grams for just one plant and I had extra space that I could have put more plants. Started with 4 and 3 were males.
